Full Disclosure: I received sunglasses through SmartBuyGlasses as compensation for this post, however, all opinions are my own and I truly feel you will love these travel tips!
I know first hand the stress that packing for vacation can cause. Trying to decide on outfits, frantically looking at the weather and wanting to look your best for Instagram can make it seem like an insurmountable task. While picking out my outfits hasn’t gotten any easier, I at least know the few items that will always be in my bag regardless of where I’m traveling to.
Mophie Phone Case
When I bought my phone off my friend Ange, she also gave me her Mophie charging case. I debated leaving it behind while travelling because it’s fairly big but it has now become my lifeline and one of the most important things in my bag.
I use my phone a lot while travelling. My maps are almost always open to avoid getting lost plus I like to search the best places to eat, grab coffee or visit… not to mention constantly checking and posting on Social Media. That means my battery drains quickly but with an external battery case, I can charge on the go and not be frantically searching for a place to charge my phone. Plus, after many drops, I can say this case protects my phone very well.
I would never travel anywhere without sunglasses. They complete an outfit and protect your eyes from the sun. After losing my Ray Ban’s to some aggressive waves in Thailand, I needed some new sunglasses for my summer European wardrobe. The SmartBuyGlasses Summer Gift Guide and virtual try-on was the perfect way to find glasses that suit me.
Beyond designer sunglasses, SmartBuyGlasses also has eyeglasses and contact lenses. Plus, their Buy One, Give One program that gives a pair of glasses to someone in need when you buy one makes you feel good about your purchase.
Sleeping while travelling can make or break a trip. Overnight flights, buses, trains, etc. can seem like a great idea since you save time and accommodation costs but if you don’t sleep you end up wasting a day catching up on sleep. With my sleep essentials, I can have a good sleep anywhere.
A necessary component to being able to sleep on an international flight. Currently, I use a blow up one. I prefer the plush ones but they are bulky to carry around, and so for long-term travel, this one is much better suited.
Ever tried to sleep in an airport where the announcements never stop? Or slept at a hostel where the party kept going well into the morning? Earplugs are definitely the key! Plus, they are cheap, light and can easily fit in just about any pocket.
I’m a recent convert to the sleep mask and it has changed everything! I’m lucky that I can pretty well sleep anywhere but a sleep mask allows me to get into a deeper sleep and I feel 100 times more rested when I use it.
Before my trip, I was gifted a S’well bottle and I could never travel without it again, especially in hot climates. Even in the searing hot sun, a S’well bottle keeps your drinks cold. Cold water when you’re sitting in hot weather on a beach is worth every penny that a S’well bottle costs. And they can be used for keeping adult beverages cold without ice too. 😉
The most versatile thing in my bag is a scarf. It can be used to keep you warm or for fashion not to mention it’s multiple other purposes like keeping your legs from sticking to a seat, keeping you warm in too high of air conditioning or using it as a pillow. A scarf is probably the number one thing I tell every woman they cannot leave home without.
Never ever would I pack a bag without my travel cubes. Living in a backpack can be a challenge but with my cubes, I can fit a lot more things into my bag and it keeps everything organized.
My newest addition to my travel bag is a tripod.
It has completely changed my Instagram game. Getting pictures of both Tom and I travelling together is no longer a problem.
