Happy Monday! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I basically tired myself out with non-stop fitness so I am sufficiently tired and ready for another weekend.
Usually, I do my long runs on Friday mornings but I got up and thought nope. My sister sent me a picture of this shirt after I told her I skipped my long run. We all feel like this somedays.
I did make it to the gym for a 7.5-mile run. Why the gym? Because the weather here is minus f-ing cold. Yup, I think that’s the term the weatherman used when broadcasting the weather in Calgary on Sunday.
Well maybe it didn’t quite hit that low, but it was cold. I know some people run outside in these extreme temperatures and good for them, I’m just not one of them. I hate being cold. I hate having to cover up my face on a run and deal with my hot breath on my face and snot forming on my mask (the struggle is real). Plus, I actually don’t mind running on a treadmill. I put on a podcast and zone out.
I decided to spend my afternoon getting some work done at a coffee shop. When I’m at home, I’m pretty much useless. The TV distracts me way too much. Though I did spend 45 minutes at the coffee shop on the phone to my sister, so I can’t say I got as much done as I had planned. But better than nothing.
A few of us went out for dinner afterwards. After my double workout, I basically inhaled my dinner and my gin martini. 🙂
I was up bright and early Saturday morning to head to the official grand opening of Lorna Jane store in Calgary. The morning started with a High Fitness class. It’s a high-energy dance class and I worked up a sweat but it’s not a class I would likely repeat. The second class of the day, barre with Barre Belles was definitely more up my alley.
My afternoon and evening were pretty uneventful. My intended plans to do laundry was foiled by my roommate doing his. And instead of getting work done on my articles as planned, I watched a lot of Netflix.
Up again early and still ridiculously cold outside, I headed to GoodLife Fitness for 15 miles on the treadmill. I figured being that it was a Sunday and right after the new year I better get to the gym early because people don’t take so kindly to hogging a treadmill for 2.5 hours during peak times.
Originally I planned to visit Brie and her baby in the afternoon. But seeing that I got nothing done on Saturday, I had some catch up to do on life things. I got around to doing my laundry, cleaned, worked on my writing, and made cupcakes for my Bachelor girls night tomorrow.
