The weekend is here, the weekend is here! And because Heritage Day is on Monday, it’s a long weekend for us Albertans. I’ve got a jam packed weekend planned that already kicked off last night. We drove out to Banff to set up our campsite. We are camping two nights and doing some hiking in the area and then returning to Calgary to take part in some local festivals Sunday and Monday.
As for fitness, I had a pretty great week. I continued to take some time away from running. That’s now two full weeks without a run for me! Next week I’m going to get back to running because I do have the Canmore Half-Marathon in only 6 weeks.
I started my 30-day ab challenge and have so far done it everyday. I plan to do it Monday-Friday and take Saturday/Sunday off each week. It’s gotten easier by the end of the week. Next week it kicks up to more reps so it should be challenging again.
Weekly Workout Recap:
Monday: Back & Biceps Workout (Live Fit Trainer) and Barre
I met up with Ange and Leslie for a barre class before heading to Ange’s to watch the Bachelor. We were worried about being a little smelly for the other girls but we got poured on during our mad dash from the store, so mother nature gave us a shower.
Tuesday: Rest Day
This wasn’t a planned rest day. I intended to get up for a Live Fit Trainer workout in the morning and then do a barre class in the evening. But I felt so exhausted on Tuesday I couldn’t bring myself to do anything. Instead, I napped and it was glorious.
Wednesday: Chest & Triceps Workout (Live Fit Trainer) and Barre
I met up with Ange again for a barre class. Luckily there was no one in the class after ours so we had a little time to do a photo shoot.
Thursday: Shoulder Workout (Live Fit Trainer) & Barre
I was able to sneak away from work for a shorter barre class. The instructor was tough! I might be feeling my booty on the hike from all the barre this week.
Planned for the weekend:
Tom and I have a 12km hike planned plus I’m hoping if the trail permits that we can do a bit of trail running too. I’ve been really enjoying that on our hikes.
We don’t have our hikes planned for Saturday yet. We know we want to go to Peyto Lake. There is a beautiful lookout there. It’s short but there is an option to continue onto a further hike. We might combine a couple of short hikes throughout the day. I guess depending on how our legs are feeling after Friday.
We’ll be back in Calgary so I plan to take a barre class Sunday morning. I’m bound and determined to hit that 20 classes in 6 weeks and if I can fit in more, even better!
