I see these type of posts in the blogosphere often and I love reading them. I find awesome product recommendations and new things to try out. So here are some things I’m loving lately. None of these products are sponsored or affiliate linked. I have nothing to gain besides giving you some new product recommendations. Enjoy!
1. Marcelle Gentle Eye Makeup Remover
I used to be a huge fan of the Loreal eye makeup remover. So much so, that I didn’t stray from it for years. But one day when desperately low on makeup remover I stopped in at Shoppers to find my beloved sold out! Desperate, I bought a new brand and it was the best thing I ever did.
This Marcelle makeup remover blows Loreal out of the water! The smallest amount wipes away my makeup with ease. No rubbing, no raccoon eyes, and gentle on the eyes. It’s fabulous and you probably need it in your life.
2. Marc Jacobs Lip Creme Lipstick
You know I’m a lover of all things MAC and I’ve raved about MAC lipsticks and my favourite colours before. But recently on Ange’s recommendation, I tried the Marc Jacobs lipsticks and on boy, they are great!
They are super creamy, have no scent and stay put! The colour range is nowhere near as extensive as MAC but they have some unique colours that you can’t find at MAC. So far I have two colors – Boy George and J Adore and I love them both. (A small trial size Marc Jacobs in Boy George is this year’s Sephora birthday gift, so make sure to sign up to be a beauty insider to receive it). I wouldn’t be surprised to see more make it into my collection.
3. Batiste XXL Volume Dry Shampoo
This is a dry shampoo and texturizer in one. This gives mega volume and does the trick of soaking up the grease in my hair. As someone who does morning workouts without time to shower my hair, this stuff has become a lifesaver. Plus, it’s inexpensive and can be found at the drugstore!
One warning, it contains texturizing powder so it does give your hair that funny feeling, if you don’t like that their regular dry shampoo is also really good.
4. Kiehls Ultimte Strength Hand Salve
I found Kiehls products when I went on Accutane and they were an absolute lifesaver for my dry skin. In winter time, my hands get super dry and will even crack. However, I normally hate hand lotion. I hate the greasy feeling and I end up rubbing it off right after putting it on. But with this hand lotion I don’t have to. It’s non-greasy and it works like magic on my dry hands.
1. Kashi Go Lean Crisp
I mentioned the other day how much I love cinnamon. I also love cereal and one of my favourite cereal brands is Kashi. Add that all together to find my new all-time favourite cereal – Kashi Go Lean Crisp in cinnamon crumble. Yes, it even beats out cinnamon toast crunch because I get the same delicious cinnamon taste but with way more protein & fibre. I already demolished a box of this stuff and I’m not allowing myself to buy another box for a while otherwise I end up eating cereal for dinner every night instead of cooking. And while it’s nutrition facts are better than most cereals it’s still high in sugar and not something to eat daily.
2. R.W. Garcia Beet
I found these crackers at Costco and fell in love. They taste like tortilla chips yet they are low in sodium. Although I’m more of a sweet person, when I have a salty craving these perfectly satisfy my craving without actually having something super salty.
3. Vega Sport Recovery Accelerator
Due to my marathon and strength training schedule, I have a couple of double workout days on my schedule per week. That means recovery between my morning and afternoon workouts is extremely important. I started taking Vega Recovery Accelerator post workout on my double workout days and it has made a huge difference.
It contains a 4:1 carbohydrate/protein ratio which is optimal for recovery, it has maca for energy, tumeric to reduce inflammation and electrolytes to reduce losses. Plus, it’s not filled with garbage ingredients. I have been loving this stuff and it will definitely continue to be part of my workout recovery routine.
