Hey there friends, it’s Friday which means one thing…
Tonight I’m heading out with friends to Korean Karaoke! What’s Korean Karaoke? Instead of having to stand up in front of a group of strangers and wait to hear your name called at a bar, you have your own private room with karaoke machine so you can sing to your hearts content and only embarrass yourself in front of friends. Although, for some reason that seems more nerve wracking to me than a room of strangers. I guess we’ll see how it goes!
But the point of this post really is about my workouts this past week. I guess the complete opposite of partying but it’s all about that balance right. Here’s what I got up to this past week.
I started Phase Three of the Live Fit Trainer program. If you missed my previous recaps, check them out (Phase One, Phase Two). Running went good this week. My plantar fasciitis has been rearing its ugly head a bit but with lots of stretching and rolling of my calves, I’m able to keep it mostly subdued.
Friday: Rest Day
Saturday: 12 mile run
Sunday: 4 mile recovery run
Monday: Back & Arms Live Fit trainer workout & 6 miles with 5 hill repeats
After talking with my coach last week, we decided to rearrange my schedule so my hill days are on Monday before my leg workout. That worked out so much better for me. Although my legs were still tired from Saturday & Sunday’s runs, I was able to power through the hills so much easier.
Tuesday: Leg Live Fit Trainer Workout
Phase 3 has two different leg days in the week so I had to choose one. One had a lot of skipping, which I love, but there aren’t any skipping ropes at my gym so I chose the other workout by default.
Wednesday: Chest & Shoulders Live Fit Trainer Workout & 3 mile run at moderate pace
Thursday: Back & Biceps Live Fit Trainer Workout
Overall, I had a great week. I got all my planned workouts completed and I’m feeling good. I’m pretty amazed with how well my body is handling my increased workout load. I think I’ve been doing a good job with my recovery which is keeping me in good shape. Perhaps something to discuss in a future post.
How do you recover between workouts? Have you ever been to Korean karaoke?
