Another week is in the books. I keep looking at the Toronto Marathon website and when I see the countdown it freaks me out. It’s now only 78 days away. How did that happen? This week my marathon training got a little off track with some foot pain that flared. I absolutely love having a coach for this reason. Rather than freaking out about the pain and trying to scramble for what to do, I can email her and she tells me a plan. I ended up swapping out a run for the spin bike and taking an extra day off running. My foot is feeling better so I think we did the right thing.
As for my strength training, things are still going great. I struggled a little more getting up for my 5 a.m. workouts this week. I slept in twice but I still got my workouts done in the afternoon. I’m continually seeing more progress and I’m already finishing up phase 2 of the Live Fit Trainer next week. Of course I’ll be sharing my results once I’m finished.
Friday: 4 miles
Normally Friday is my long run day but I had a hair appointment in the morning and didn’t have time for a longer run. So I kept it short.
Saturday: 3 miles & Shoulder Live Fit Trainer workout
Sunday: 9-mile run
Monday: Back & Delts Live Fit Trainer workout & 30 minute spin
Tuesday: Live Fit Trainer Leg Workout
Holy this was a hard workout! The program cranked it up a notch this week and I was sweating like crazy by the time I was finished and my legs felt like absolute jello.
Wednesday: Chest & Abs Live Fit Trainer Workout
Thursday: Biceps, Triceps & Abs Live Fit Trainer Workout and 5 mile run with 3 hill repeats
Oh hill repeats, did those really have to start becoming part of my training? I mean I know they’ll make me a stronger and faster runner but I really, really hate them! At least, Tom joined me for my run so he kept me motivated as he effortlessly sprinted up the hill and I slogged and panted slowly behind him.
Now you may have noticed I didn’t have any rest days this week. I am a HUGE fan and proponent of taking rest days. I will absolutely be taking one this weekend, for some reason the way my scheduling worked out things got a little crazy. I won’t let that happen again, that’s for sure.
