Happy Monday friends. I had such a great weekend. It was a relief to be home for once and I had lots of Christmas activities this weekend so I feel like my Christmas spirit is definitely in full force now!
Friday I got my hair coloured. I was planning on just getting my roots touched up but my hair dresser asked if I wanted to put more lowlights in. I typically trust his judgement so I said yes. Unfortunately, this time, that did not work in my favour. The low-lights came out really red and I don’t like it. I considered going back to get it fixed, but it’s not awful. So I’ll probably just ride it out to my next appointment and get the low-lights removed then.
I braved the mall once again and got the rest of my Christmas shopping done. That’s right, it’s all finished! Then I wrapped all the presents. And I do mean ALL the presents because when you have 15 nieces & nephews, there are a lot of gifts.
The wrapping took me 3 hours, but I was able to distract myself with Christmas movies and hot chocolate with Baileys, so it wasn’t so bad.
On Tuesday last week I took my first BodyPump class in a long time which means I’ve been SUPER sore all week. Like, can’t sit on the toilet kind of sore. You know what I mean. 😉
Despite the soreness, I made a commitment to make it to BodyPump twice a week and so off I headed on Saturday morning. I always like to be early to set up my bench and weights so I arrived a few minutes before 9 and found it wasn’t even open yet. Nothing like being the early bird!
After the class, I finished up some shopping for my Blogger Christmas party then headed home to get things ready for the evening.
The girls came over around 6 and we got to chatting and laughing. Seriously, so much laughing. I absolutely love the community of bloggers and friends I have found in Calgary. It’s something I never ever expected to come out of blogging but it’s truly the best part.
Of course, since we’re a group of healthy living bloggers, there was delicious and healthy food!
Plus lots of wine and Christmas punch. It’s all about balance.
We did a Chinese gift exchange which was awesome. I love that everyone brought things that were totally cliche healthy living blogger things like food from Trader Joes, Vega One protein powder and Kombucha.
Luckily, we didn’t get too deep into the wine Saturday night so I woke up feeling fine on Sunday morning and decided to haul myself to Fit Republic for a combo spin/barre class.
The class was tough so I relaxed my sore muscles in a bubble bath and sipped on a green smoothie afterwards.
In the afternoon, I did some Christmas baking. I’m not much of a baker because I have zero patience and don’t read directions properly. So I stuck to the easiest recipes that are basically foolproof. I think I ate more than I put in the freezer, or at least my stomach ache made me feel that way.
Overall, it was a perfect weekend. I fully feel in the Christmas spirit now and with only 11 days until Christmas, I can’t wait for it to get here.
