It’s been a while since I talked beauty on the blog. Honestly, I’ve been so good lately about not purchasing unnecessary makeup. While that’s good for the bank account, it’s bad for the blog! But I have had a couple of recent purchases that I’m in love with and one oldie but goodie product that I wanted to share as some of my recent beauty favourites.
1. Living Proof Curling Defining Style Cream
I have naturally wavy hair. Because I work early I shower at night 99% of the time. And because I am lazy 95% of that time, I often leave my hair naturally dry wavy rather than blowdrying it. It’s taken me a lot of years but I’ve finally found my holy grail curl cream.
This stuff turns my wavy hair into gorgeous curls. And the best part is zero frizz, even when I go to bed with my hair wet. This stuff is like liquid gold except it’s not as expensive!
2. Loreal Voluminous Million Lashes
I’ve been a fan of Loreal Voluminous mascara for ages. Last time I went to the store they were out of stock.
So I picked up this one instead and, I love it. The one beef I have with the Loreal Voluminous is it can get pretty clumpy. The brush on this formula removes clumps and gives me a nice separated lash. It’s not as thick of a formula so it does take a little more work to get the same bold lashes that Loreal Voluminous gives but I definitely give this mascara two thumbs up.
3. Coopertone Sensitive Skin Face Sunscreen
I’m a stickler for sunscreen. If the foundation or product I’m wearing on my face doesn’t have sunscreen, I need to wear sunscreen underneath my makeup. Coppertone sensitive skin is one of the best products I’ve found that works underneath my foundation. It doesn’t look greasy or affect the wear of my makeup at all, it doesn’t give any white flashback with cameras and most importantly, it doesn’t cause breakouts.
4. Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue
Ever since finishing Accutane, I really don’t need foundation. So most days I opt for a BB cream or tinted moisturizer which gives me just a little bit of coverage and has sunscreen built in. One thing I dislike about a lot of BB creams or tinted moisturizers is they leave you looking shiny. I love the Bare Minerals tinted cream because it goes on matte. I don’t even need to put a powder on afterwards. It looks natural but just enhances my skin tone that extra bit.
5. Benefit Rockateur Blush
This is one of those products I used to love but it fell out of use in my drawer for a long time. Well not anymore. I forgot how gorgeous of a blush it is and lately I’ve been rocking it daily.
