A very early post on my blog was my favourite MAC eye shadows. This post continues to be my highest viewed post. I can’t blame people, who doesn’t love MAC makeup?
So I figured why not go beyond eye shadows and talk about my all time favourite MAC products.
1. 217 Brush
There shouldn’t be a woman out there without this brush in her makeup kit. Blending is your friend when it comes to eye shadow and this is the magic brush that will do all the blending for you.
I know spending over $20 on a single brush seems like a lot but trust me, you won’t regret it. Plus a quality brush lasts. I use my 217 brush every single day. I’ve had my brush for probably 7 years and it’s in as good of condition as when I bought it.
2. Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder
I’ve mentioned this product a lot on my blog and that’s because this is a holy grail product for me. This powder looks so natural on the skin. It gives coverage without looking cakey and it lasts a long time. I also like to use this powder in a darker shade for contouring.
3. Pro Longwear Lip Pencil
Lipliner is the key to having your lipstick stay put. And these lipliners are the magic key that you need. These lipliners literally last forever. You can eat and drink and your lipliner and therefore lipstick stays put. Plus, if you’re going to use bold lipsticks you want a lipliner to give you those crisp edges.
4. Pro Longwear Foundation
MAC doesn’t have the best reputation for their foundations. A lot of people don’t like them but this formula I love. My skin used to be quite oily and this is one foundation that I could wear all day without having it look oxidized or oily. And it’s true to it’s name. It lasts all day long!
5. Pro Longwear Concealer
Do you notice a trend? I really love MAC’s pro long wear line. There really isn’t a product in that line that has let me down. If it says pro longwear, they mean business. This concealer is great for under the eyes. It doesn’t crease at all. I actually use a cream based concealer first because I have dark under eye circles and cream gives you more coverage. However, cream concealers tend to settle into fine lines so I top it with this concealer and that problem is solved.
6. Russian Red Lipstick
I could go on and on about MAC lipsticks and how much I love them. In fact maybe that’ll be a future post, my top MAC lipsticks. But if I had to pick one favourite colour it would be Russian Red. It’s that perfect deep red that makes you stand out and look glamorous. It’s more of a blue-toned red but I feel a lot of skin tones can pull it off.
It’s a matte formula so it doesn’t tend to bleed around your lips as much as a glossy formula does but I still recommend pairing it with a lipliner. Plus once again, it lasts! You can seriously go for hours and hours without reapplying this lipstick.
