Forgive me father for I have sinned…
No wait, it’s not that kind of confession. In fact, I’ve never done one of those type of confessions, just seen it in the movies so what would I know.
However I do want to confess some of my secrets. What’s a blog if you can’t spill your guts to the internet right?
That I’m really struggling to find motivation to train for the Calgary Marathon. I think when I decided to sign up for my second marathon I was still riding the high from finishing the New York Marathon.
When I trained for New York I was so motivated, it was my first marathon and it was the big one. For Calgary, I don’t feel that same drive. I don’t want to say that it’s just Calgary because the marathon is fantastic and I’m so happy to be a part of it but it doesn’t have the same appeal as the New York Marathon.
There has been a part of me contemplating dropping down to the half marathon but then a bigger part of me says you committed to something and you are capable, just do it!
Writing posts about nutrition is my least favourite thing to blog about. It’s weird because I love nutrition and I love talking about it but I feel so much pressure when I write about nutrition because there’s an expectation.
I also find it harder to write about nutrition and find the balance between having my voice and my personality in the post vs sounding like a textbook spewing information.
I am one of the laziest active people. When it comes to going for a 2 hour run, I get it done. But when it comes to picking up my gym bag from the spot I threw it on the floor when I got home and taking it upstairs I just don’t do it. I will literally look at my gym bag when I’m heading upstairs and choose not to pick it up. It frustrates me but it frustrates Tom even more!
When I’m alone for supper I eat cereal….a lot! I really hate cooking for myself so I end up eating cereal for supper on many occasions. I try to usually make it more balanced by also having some hard boiled eggs & a fruit or salad.
My absolute favuorite cereal is Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I would eat that every single day for supper. But I never eat just a full bowl of cinnamon toast crunch. Usually I have something more sensible like bran flakes and then just a sprinkling of cinnamon toast crunch for flavour.
I am super cheap when it comes to buying clothes. If a shirt costs more than $25 I probably will not buy it however I won’t think twice about buying a $45 blush.
What do you want to confess?
