Hi friends! The warm weather here lately (sorry if you’re still stuck in a deep freeze) has got me thinking about summer. I have a lot of great plans lined up but I’m really looking forward to kicking off my summer with the GoodLife Fitness City Chase.
If you haven’t heard of it, City Chase is a two person team Canadian urban adventure race. Basically, think Amazing Race but in one day and one city. Tom and I did City Chase two years in a row before it was sadly not offered in Calgary last year. 🙁
This year it’s back and I’m doing it again. But I’ve dropped Tom as my partner in favour of Ange! (sorry Tom)
The two years I have done City Chase, I absolutely loved it. You get to do some really fun challenges and it’s a great way to spend the day checking out your city. I’ve been dumpster diving, wading through fountains, shooting targets at the gun range & doing yoga on a park bench. And that is just naming a few challenges.
Every age and ability is able to compete in this race. You don’t need to be in top shape to be a part of it because all chase points are different – some mental, some physical & some just plain fun.
There are challenges or “chase points” throughout the city and you are given a clue sheet which you have to decipher to figure out where the chase points are located.
For me, it’s more about the adventure and fun than about the actual race. You can race around the city by foot or by public transport but no cabs & no cars. Unless of course you’re on the hood of them…
Or pulling them…
And of course sliding is always encouraged.
City Chase is offered in 5 Canadian cities – Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver & Edmonton throughout the summer. So if you’re looking for a great way to have fun this summer, grab a partner and sign up! The best part….I can offer you a $15 off coupon code. Yay for saving money. Now let’s get chasing!
Have you ever done an adventure/obstacle race?
Full Disclosure: I was provided free entry to City Chase however all opinions are my own and based on my own experience.
