I can’t believe it’s September already! With September comes the end of camping season, at least for me. I know some people continue camping until snowfall but I’m not a fan of freezing my butt off.
I was very happy I was able to get in one last hurrah with a long weekend of camping fun with an amazing group of friends. We didn’t really “do” anything. The weekend was mostly sitting around, chatting and having a
few many adult beverages. Overall, what’s what I call a successful camping trip!
Our poor man’s speaker. Lucky we have a few engineers around to create these things.
There were a few shotguns during a game of beer darts, in which my hair became soaked in beer. That sure attracted the wasps.
I believe I had beer sprayed on my camera so hence the blurry photos.
We added a little running to our game of flip cup. I mean, at least we were exercising! 😉
Then it was time to continue “carb loading”. The things us runners have to do…
Now I have a busy week ahead of me with the championship game of my slo-pitch league, starting to teach the fall session of weight management course and prepping for my half marathon next weekend!
NYC Marathon Training Recap
As for my marathon training this week, it didn’t go according to plan. I was sick all week so my mileage suffered but I still managed to get 3 runs in.
I am currently working on adjusting my training plan, I am no longer going to be running one of my planned half marathons because I decided to go to LA instead.
On my plan this week for a long run I had 18 miles, I realized that my plan seemed to be ramping up quite quickly and I didn’t want to do such a long run with my half marathon next weekend that I’m hoping to PR on. So I cut back my long run and will adjust the rest of my plan going forward.
|Tuesday||7 miles||6 miles|
|Sunday||6 miles||4.5 miles|
What did you do for the long weekend? Do you exercise when you’re sick?
