For those of you who follow me regularly, first of all thank you!
But you may have noticed, I didn’t post yesterday. I don’t really have a great excuse, except that I’m not too good at pre-planning so I usually write my blog post the night before it goes live. Monday night, I had no desire to write. Tom and I planned to go to a movie and he even made supper so I could work on my blog. I sat at my computer and nothing, just nothing. I was going to cancel our date night to the movies to work on it and then realized, no. While I love my blog, spending time with my husband is way more important. Plus, we went to see neighbors and I got to see this…
That right there is worth not putting up a blog post. I could just watch it over and over and over. And thanks to the magic of a gif I can!
Anyways, on to todays topic. As you may have guessed, I love makeup. While I don’t love taking it off, it is super important. I already suffer from enough problems with my skin that the last thing I need is to contribute to the problems with clogged pores. Therefore, I take my makeup removing seriously. Over time I have come to find some products that I buy consistently.
The clarisonic is amazing. It really helps remove makeup fully and exfoliates the skin at the same time. I have the Mia, it cost about $139. I bought it when I had 20% off from Sephora to save some money but it was a worth while investment.
2. Norwex Cloth
The norwex antibac clothes are amazing makeup removers. I love using these for when I’m travelling or on those nights when I’m super tired and don’t feel like going through my full face routine. All you need is water and your makeup comes right off.
3. Loreal Gentle Eye Makeup Remover
I have used this eye makeup remover for years. It is the best on the market and if they ever discontinue it, I think I will revolt!
4. Sephora 2 in 1 Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover Gel
This stuff is great for removing waterproof makeup. I like to use waterproof mascara when I want my lashes to stay curled so I needed to invest in a waterproof remover. This stuff is non-greasy which is so rare for a waterproof remover. Plus it’s also hydrating for your skin, I just love it.
5. Delon Cotton Rounds
I buy these from Costco and they are phenomenal! A regular cotton pad from wal-mart doesn’t cut it. These cotton pads never fall apart & never leave cotton on your face. They are simply the best.
6. Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner
A toner is great for resetting the pH of your face and removing any remaining makeup from your face. I always use an alcohol free toner because alcohol can dry out your face. Although some people like that tingly feeling and think that means it’s working, it is actually causing harm. Finding an alcohol free toner isn’t always easy. I like the Neutrogena one because it’s cheap and does the trick.
Now you’ll notice the one thing I have missing from this system is a cleanser. Currently I am using Cetaphil.
I bought it a long time ago and it lasts because it comes in a huge bottle. Although this is a cult-classic product, I’m not a huge fan. I don’t find it removes my makeup very well. So I’m still in the market for a good cleanser, if you have any recommendations, I would love to hear them!
Do you always remove your makeup? What are your must have products?
